There’s just something about this jalapeno dip, yall! It’s creamy, full of flavor and so easy to make. It’s the perfect mix between cool and creamy and full of flavor with some extra kick from the jalapeno peppers – but not too spicy by any means! It’s similar to a jalapeno popper dip, but a little different too!
I love to whip this delicious dip up whenever my family is at the beach (or pool party) but you can enjoy this easy cream cheese dip for game days, a super bowl party, weekend get-togethers, cookouts and more!

Jalapeno Cream Cheese Dip Notes
CREAM CHEESE: I recommend using regular, block-style, full-fat cream cheese here because it will make the creamiest dip, but you can sub in low fat if you like.
SOUR CREAM: Again, full-fat will give the best flavor and texture for this dip, but if you want to, you can sub in greek yogurt!
JALAPENOS: Be sure to de-seed the fresh jalapeños or else this dip will get spicy – quick! However, if you like a spicy cream cheese dip, add the seeds in and take it one step further with added cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes!
ONION POWDER & GARLIC POWDER – They add the best flavor to this dip, don’t skip these additions!
GREEN ONION – You can substitute in chives as well.
CILANTRO – Leave this out if you’re not a cilantro lover, but I love the extra zest it gives this jalapeno dip!
SALT & PEPPER – More or less, to taste!
SPICE IT UP – Add cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and the seeds from the jalapeno peppers in your dip if you want a spicier version!
CHEESY ADDITIONS – Want to add cheese to this dip? I’d recommend 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese or a little bit of sharp cheddar cheese.

Jalapeno Cream Cheese Dip
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3 jalapenos deseeded and diced
- 1 tbsp cilantro diced
- 2 tbsp green onion diced
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- In a small mixing bowl, stir together softened cream cheese, sour cream, diced jalapeños, diced cilantro, diced green onion, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. Stir well until combined.
- As an alternative to mixing by hand, you can use an electric mixer with paddle attachment or food processor to combine the dip.
- Cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve!
- Optional Garnish – Diced chives, sliced jalapenos
