Whipped Ricotta with Honey Dip

I love the honey and garlic flavors in this whipped ricotta, but you can certainly flavor it as you wish. There’s also a touch of lemon zest which gives the ricotta a fresh, lively flavor.

Ricotta is a mild, Italian whey cheese so it is easily flavored with seasonings, etc so add more or less of any herb, seasoning, etc.

Honey Whipped Ricotta Dip Appetizer

I love adding a festive garnish so I sprinkled my ricotta dip with extra thyme sprigs, a few basil leaves, black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil and honey. We’ve actually enjoyed this easy dip as a dinner alongside a piece of grilled salmon or chicken lately! It’s refreshing and delicious.

FAQs about Whipped Ricotta Dip

Absolutely! Look for whole milk ricotta (usually with the specialty cheeses).

Yes! That’s my preferred method for whipping ricotta, but you can also make whipped ricotta using a blender or an electric mixer with a whisk attachment. The whisk method will not produce as smooth of a whipped ricotta as a food processor, however, but still delish! For a smooth whipped ricotta, be sure to blend or use a food processor for at least 2 minutes.

Serve your whipped ricotta with crostini, toast points, crackers, vegetables, pita chips… you name it! This whipped ricotta also makes an easy spread for wraps or sandwiches.

You can store leftover whipped ricotta in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Whipped Ricotta Dip with Honey

This dip is so creamy thanks to ricotta, it’s one of my favorite dips alongside crostini! It’s super flavorful with the addition of garlic, honey and lemon. It’s truly the perfect trio of bright flavors! And you can use store-bought ricotta so it’s easy to pull together in minutes!
